The engine is the emotions of an van. When the engine breaks down, you may choose to overtake it or transform it by removing the engine. Mounting the rebuilt engine or its replacement in the engine bay requires exclusive Accoutrement and apprehension.
Instructions
1. Wrap the supplied chain from the engine hoist enclosing the model of the dissimilar engine (it should much be on the crate). Fabricate undeniable that you are wrapping it enclosing the backside and that it fits snugly against the exhaust manifold. Secure the top of the engine encompassing the top of the engine.
2. Lock the chain to the engine hoist.
3. Hoist the engine out of the crate, following the operating instructions for the engine hoist.
4. Maneuver the engine hoist so that the engine is over the empty engine bay of the vehicle. If your engine hoist doesn't have wheels, you will need to push the vehicle under the hoisted engine.
5. Lower the engine into the engine bay. Work slowly and be careful. Make sure you are able to clear all internal electrical and related components still in the engine bay.
6. Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.12. Check the orientation of the entire engine/transmission assembly to make sure it is sitting straight in the engine bay and that there is proper clearance.
8. Attach the nuts to the engine mount bolts, but do not fully torque them at this time.
9. Reattach the transmission. Once the transmission is lined up with the engine, slide it toward the engine (paying attention to the orientation of the clutch/pressure plate on the transmission assembly and the flywheel on the engine). You may need to use a clutch alignment tool and/or consult the shop/service manual for the proper orientation of your clutch assembly.
10. Line up the bolt holes for the engine and transmission and bolt the engine to the transmission using the existing bolt holes and bolts from the old engine.
11. Line up the engine mounting brackets to the engine mounts on the chassis of the vehicle.7. Insert the engine mounting bolts (should be supplied with your new engine) into the engine mounts. The bolt should pass through both the mounting brackets on the engine and the mounts on the chasis.
Then, tighten the motor mount bolts. Torque the bolts/retaining nuts to the specifications in your vehicle's service manual.
13. Connect all of the remaining components, hoses, wires, and cables to the replacement engine. Be sure the battery cables are disconnected throughout this procedure, to avoid shocks or sparks. Don't forget to fill the engine with oil before attempting to start it. This step could take several hours, and you will need to check your vehicle manufacturer's shop manual for specific connections, as these procedures vary widely for each make and model of vehicle.
