Stock exhaust
mufflers are designed to balance performance, price and clamour.
Exhaust baffling dampens the sound profile. Removal of the baffles may not only increase the volume, but also result in a more harsh tone or rumble. If the muffler is not a closed system, or one with a pipe with holes that shields the baffling, you may be able to insert a bent coat hanger into the muffler and remove baffling by pulling the material out.
Instructions
1. Attach a resonated exhaust gratuity to the tailpipe to lessen the sound output from the exhaust. Resonated tips acquire a liner untrue of a sound-dampening information, such as fiberglass, that Testament absorb sound as it exits the tailpipe.
2. Alter the tailpipe or existing exhaust gratuity with an aftermarket exhaust gratuity designed to amplify the sound. Tips that are bevelled, compass an increased thickness, or are dual-walled or flared may constitute your exhaust sound extended noticable.
3. Install a cross-over pipe on a dual-exhaust system. X-pipes, H-pipes, Y-pipes and simple cross-overs all will enable the uneven compression in each exhaust system to be balanced. The cross-over pipe allows the gas build-up from one side of the exhaust system to be moved to the side with less pressure. The flow balancing will level the tone quality and reduce pulsating sounds.
4. Increase the diameter of the exhaust pipe. Increased exhaust porting will allow more exhaust gases to move through the exhaust system at any given time, and deepen the tone.
5. Remove the baffling. Some mufflers can be accessed via the tailpipe to remove exhaust baffling.Inventory exhaust systems are designed to balance sound output, value and performance. Aftermarket exhausts may replicate inventory systems, breakthrough performance or be specifically designed to alternate the sound of the vehicle. The muffler is the largest contributor to the exhaust profile of the engine. Altering the sound output of the exhaust manner while leaving the twin muffler installed requires adjusting of the exhaust pipes, either washed-up open manipulation or replacement, or the Appendix of aftermarket products.
