Use A Washer Drain Hose

Instructions


1. Insert the molded hook pipe from your hardware bag into the opposite end of the drain hose, if your washer uses the pipe. Place the end of the drain hose over the plastic form from the hardware bag, if you have the form instead of a pipe. Press the hose in between the retaining tabs on the form to secure the hose. Release the spring clamp tabs.


2. Place the end of the hose over the drain port on the back of the washer. Slide the hose over the drain port until the ribs of the hose meet the top of the port. Compress the spring clamp tabs with the pliers and slide the spring clamp down until it reaches the mark on the end of the hose. The spring clamp must be on a mark with the word "clamp" for proper installation. Release the spring clamp's tabs.


3. Wet one end of the hose inside with warm tap water. This will help the hose slide over the washer drain port. Compress the tabs on the spring clamp with a pair of pliers, and slide the spring clamp over the end of the hose. The form and pipe turn the end of the hose into a hook.


4. Place the hook end of the hose into your house drain line or the side of the laundry tub. Secure the hose to the pipe with plastic zip ties. Place the zip tie around the hose and pipe and insert one end of the tie into the small slot on the other end. Pull the end tight to secure.
