18. Raise the rear of the vehicle, using the floor jack, and place the jack stands beneath the metal bar spanning the rear of the vehicle. Lower the vehicle until the van's weight is only on the jack stands. Remove the rear lug nuts and pull the rear wheel from the van.


19. Locate the rear shock, the cylinder directly behind the rear wheel. Loosen and remove the top and bottom shock bolts using a ratchet and socket.


20. Pull the shock from the rear of the vehicle.


21. Place the new shock on the upper mount and hand-tighten the upper mounting bolt. Swing the shock to the lower mount and hand-tighten the lower mounting bolt.


22. Tighten both the upper and lower mounting bolts to 75 foot-pounds using a torque wrench and a socket.


23. Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for the shock on the other side if the van.


24. Place the rear wheels back on the Grand Caravan and hand-tighten the lug nuts.


25.5. Hint the strut downward until you boast where the pattern of the strut meeting bolts to the steering knuckle, the Element that holds the revolve to the vehicle.
