Engine with an ignition coil
The 1995 Corsica uses a plain ignition process that pairs differing cylinders and supplies Glimmer to the paired cylinders. The cylinder under compression receives the Mass of the now and the contradictory cylinder receives whatever voltage is left. This "misuse voltage" ignites the Glimmer plug when the valves are unlatched in the exhaust position.5. Finish the installation by mounting the ignition module with the mounting bolts, replacing the spark plug wires and reattaching the electrical connectors. Reattach the cable to the negative post on the battery.
1. Remove the cable from the negative post of the battery. This would be a good time to clean the post and cable of any corrosion.
2. Unplug the electrical connections that run to the ignition coil module. Check the spark plug wires and see if they are numbered; if not, use wires labels to identify each wire. Replacing the spark plug wires incorrectly will cause the engine to run rough or not at all.
3. Remove the mounting bolts that hold the module in place. Lift the ignition module up and out of the car. The coils are mounted to the module with 5.5mm bolts, remove them to separate the coils from the module.
4. Install the new coils and make sure they plug into the module completely. Bolt the ignition module and coils back together.
Everyone cylinder span has its own ignition coil and the coils are grouped well-balanced to contour an ignition module. On 6-cylinder engines the fan may need to be removed before you can access the ignition module.
