Install Car Vinyl Tops

Instructions

4. Fold the vinyl top on half. Cut a small V-notch on each side, at the center of the fold.
5. Wipe the vehicle roof with a clean rag. Set the vinyl on top of the vehicle. Align the V-notches of the vinyl with the center marks placed on the vehicle. Ensure the vinyl top covers the entire area of the roof.
6. Fold the vinyl in half. Wipe the exposed section of roof with a clean rag. Coat the cleaned section of roof and the underside of the vinyl with a can of contact cement. Allow the contact cement to dry.
7. Unfold the vinyl while pressing it firmly to the vehicle roof. Ensure no air bubbles remain between the vinyl and the surface of the roof.
8. Fold the unglued half of the vinyl onto the glued sections. Clean, glue and secure the vinyl to the roof as described.
9. Trim excess vinyl from the vehicle with a utility knife.
10. Install the vehicle trim with a flathead and/or a Phillips screwdriver. Trim any vinyl extending past the trim with a utility knife.
11. Remove the masking tape and plastic sheeting from the vehicle.
