Bleed The Brakes On 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix

Bleed your brakes after changing them.


One of the most leading maintenence tasks you get for your Pontiac Grand Prix is maintaining your brakes. Over age, your brake pads wear down, fitting less direct at stopping your machine. Provided the pads wear down Sufficiently, they can fail completely, causing determined injury or worse to you and others. After you moderate your brakes, you itch to bleed the brake course. Repeat this about 5 times and refill the reservoir.6. Tell your assistant to pump the brake pedal 10 times and open the bleeder screw. Continue doing this until you no longer see air bubbles in the brake fluid.



1. Empty the brake fluid from the reservoir with a turkey baster.


2. Fill the reservoir with late brake fluid.


3. Situate a crystal tube over the nipple on the bleeder screw and district the other objective into an empty plastic baptize bottle.


4. Impart your assistant to pump the brake pedal a few times.


5. Have your assistant press down on the pedal hard and hold it. Loosen the brake fluid bleeder screw and close it right before the brake pedal hits the floor. This removes any air bubbles trapped inside the brake lines which can block the lines and cause the brake pedal mood spongy. It very allows you to exchange the brake fluid in the lines.
