If you are using spray paint, pull the caliper from the rotor. You can do this by removing the caliper's two guide pins and rocking the caliper back and forth to remove it.


3. Spray grease remover on the caliper and rotor. Dry both with a rag. Set them in a clean place to dry completely.


4. Fill all holes and moving parts with paper towels and/or masking tape. Bolt holes are best filled with paper towels. Moving engine parts are best covered with masking tape.


Painting


5. Place the caliper and rotor over a sheet of cardboard or newspaper. Note: If using the caliper painting kit, your caliper and rotor should still be attached.


6. Apply the paint to each until it is thinly applied without clumps. If using spray paint, spray the caliper and rotor from approximately a foot away, slowly rotating your hand to reach each surface. If using a brush, lightly and quickly brush the caliper and rotor surface to avoid clumping.


7. Wait several hours for the paint to dry with the tape and paper still in place. When the paint is completely dry, gently remove the tape and paper.


8. Reassemble the pieces, checking to make sure no holes are filled with paint.
