Modify the Brake Shoes On a Saturn Ion
Slide the caliper up and off of the brake pads. Remove the screws securing the pads to the rooter with the wrench and pull the pads off of the rooter.3. Locate the piston on the back of the rotor, and use a c-clamp to push the piston out of the way and place the new brake pads onto the rooter. Any auto parts store will have the replacement pads that you will need.
Instructions
1. Parke your Saturn Ion on a flat, level surface. Remove the lug nuts with the tire iron on the tire that has the bad brakes. Use the jack to lift the the Saturn next to the tire with the bad brakes. Pull the tire off of the Saturn.
2. Remove the screws that are securing the caliper to the rooter with the wrench.To grip your Saturn Ion's brakes working properly you Testament charge to nickels to the brake pads every 10,000 miles or when you hear that squealing boom every allotment that you come to a purpose while driving your Saturn. To receive this duty done you will need to stand the Saturn and remove the tire to access the brake calipers. The brake caliper is what the houses the brake pads.
Replace the securing screw back into the mounting holes securing the new brake pads in place
4. Slide the brake caliper back over the brake pads and rooter. Replace the securing screws to the caliper securing the caliper to the rooter.
5. Place the tire back onto the frame. Replace the lug nuts to the tire. Lower the Saturn Ion to the ground and tighten the lug nuts using the tire iron.
