The windows on a Honda CIvic are not apart the glass panels themselves. Place the watershield back on the door. Put the trim panel back on the door in reverse order of removal, replace the mirror trim cover and re-connect the pull handle, door handle and window crank. Reconnect the negative battery cable. What you must disconnect to install a regulator depends mainly on whether the Civic uses power windows.
Instructions
1. Unplug the cable on the negative terminal for the car battery in the engine. This is especially needed if the Civic uses power windows or doors. Detach the manual window crank (if equipped) by removing its clip with a hooked tool; the clip is on the back end of the crank at the bottom pivot, running parallel to the handle.
2. Pry off the trim cover in the inner door handle with a flat-bladed tool. Remove the mounting screws. Pull out the handle bezel and disconnect the door handle rod and electrical connectors from within. Perform the same procedure for the pull handle, then pry out the mirror trim cover.
3. Remove the door trim panel by prying off its clips with a door panel removal tool or similar flat-blade tool. Lift the panel up and off the door and remove the electrical connectors. Peel away the watershield from the door.
4. Remove the old window glass and regulator if equipped. Raise the window enough to reach the window's retaining bolts. Remove the glass' two mounting bolts and lift it up out of the door. Disconnect the electrical connector to the window motor (if it's a power window), remove the regulator's bolts and slide the regulator out of the door frame's service hole.
5. Insert the new regulator into the door through the hole and apply the mounting bolts at both the top and bottom ends of the doors. Attach the motor to its electrical connector located near the door hinge.
6. Insert the window glass down into position through the opening in the top of the door and fasten its bolts onto the regulator.
