Instructions
1. 6. Check your next billing statement to verify you are not being charged interest on unauthorized charges. If Capital One determines that the charge was indeed unauthorized, it must remove the charge, finance charges and any other fees related to the error.
7. Request copies of documents proving you are not responsible for the debt. If Capital One sides with the merchant, you can request copies of the supporting documentation. You then have a right within 10 days to write to Capital One indicating your refusal to pay the amount. Collection proceedings can then be initiated against you.
