Change A Timing Belt Inside A Hyundai Accent

4. Work in a clockwise position to install the timing belt starting at the crankshaft sprocket. Rotate the crankshaft in a clockwise direction until the timing mark, which is designated by a dot, is lined up with the mark on the engine block.


Partially loosen the tensioner bolt and pivot bolt with a wrench. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the mark lines up once again.


6. Push the timing belt halfway between the crankshaft sprocket and the camshaft sprocket.


7. Rotate the crankshaft in a clockwise position until the dots line up again. Reinstall the parts in the reverse order that you took them out. Ensure the crankshaft sprocket pin is engaged in the pulley.
