Heat is routed to the registers from the heater core.
The driver can control the amount of coolant entering the core by operating a rotary knob or lever, which opens and closes a valve to allow coolant to enter the core.
Maintanence
Periodic maintenance can help avoid premature damage to the heater core. Changing coolant at regular intervals will help keep harmful deposits, such as old sealant or pieces of solder, from blocking the passages to the core.Ardent coolant from the engine passes fini the winding tubes of the core, used to cumulation surface heat. A fan blows air on the tubes and transfers heat from the tubes to the passenger cabin. The coolant then passes back to the engine.
Location and Control
The heater core is under the instrument panel of a vehicle. Tubing is normally trumped-up of brass or aluminium. Rubber hoses manage coolant from the engine to the heater core. The motorcar heater core is stuff of the vehivle's cooling manner. It is a petite radiator which transfers heat from the coolant to the passenger compartment. It allows the interior of the motorcar to be heated on winter days, providing consolation to the Chauffeur and occupants.
The Mechanicals
Checking the hose fittings for tightness also prevents leaks. Leaking coolant in the passenger compartment or under the passenger compartment is a sign that the heater core needs replacing.
