Rebuild A Supertrapp Muffler

A muffler with a removable borderline cap.


SuperTrapp mufflers accept onliest three replaceable components: the extremity cap, the stack of tuning discs and the core meeting. The mufflers are modified, or tuned, by adding or subtracting from the figure of metal discs in a stack. SuperTrapp proposes that a motorcycle equipped with one of its exhausts can be effectively tuned by simply adding or subtracting discs in the muffler. Instructions


1.7. Tighten the end cap screws to 22 inch pounds of torque with a torque wrench and a ¼ inch Allen socket.



Insert the replacement muffler core into the muffler shell. Replace the two ¼ inch Allen screws and tighten to 22 inch pounds of torque with a torque wrench and a ¼ inch Allen socket.


4. Replace the stackable discs in your end cap-disc assembly with replacement discs. Stack 10 to 20 discs in the end cap with the flat side of the discs facing away from the end cap.


5. Cover the threads of the end cap screws with a light coat of SuperTrapp high temperature lubricant or its equivalent. Insert the screws through the end cap-disc stack assembly.


6. Screw the end cap-disc stack assembly to the end of the muffler. Tighten the top most screw first, the left most screw second and the right most screw last.


Remove the stop cap and CD stack from the stop of the muffler by loosening the extreme cap screws with a socket wrench and ¼ inch Allen socket. Reserve the three screws.2. Remove the core assembly by loosening the two ¼ inch Allen screws on the bottom of the muffler near the outlet. Loosen cores that are rusted in place with penetrating oil.3.
