Turn on the digital multimeter.
2. Set the device To gauge resistance by turning the dial to the setting denoted by the capital Greek letter omega. This is the symbol for ohms, the unit of resistance.
The resistence, or aptitude to prevent current flow, of the solenoid must meet a specific value specified by the manufacturer.
Instructions
1.Touch the black (negative) probe of the multimeter to the negative post of the starter solenoid. The reading on the screen is the resistance in ohms. Compare this value to the manufacturer's recommended value.
