Pull the old thermostat out of the engine using your hand. The thermostat is not bolted onto the engine. It is removed by pulling upward on it.5.
Remove the clamp with a screwdriver and pull the hose off of the thermostat intake tube.
2. Remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat intake tube onto the intake manifold of the Silverado. Pull the thermostat intake tube off of the intake manifold.
3. Inspect the surface of the intake manifold where the thermostat intake tube was bolts and remove the thermostat gasket. If the gasket is not on the intake manifold it will be stuck to the bottom of the thermostat intake tube.

Instructions
1. Place the thermostat housing by tracking the top radiator hose from the radiator to the site where the hose clams onto the engine.Place the new thermostat into the intake manifold. It sits on a machined lip located inside of the intake manifold.
6. Place the new thermostat gasket onto the intake manifold. Line the gasket up so the holes designed for the bolts line up with the holes in the intake manifold.
7. Bolt the thermostat intake tube back onto the engine and reattach the radiator hose to the intake tube.
