Alternate a Window Lift Engine on a 2000 Ford Explorer
4. Disconnect the body harness from the old window motor. Unbolt the motor from the Explorer's door support and regulator with the socket set. Anyone with basic Car repair skills and an age of Leisure time can alternate the window lift Engine in the 2000 Ford Explorer.
Instructions
1. Pry off the 2000 Ford Explorer's power window and lock switches from the door panel with a trim tool. Disconnect each switch from the Explorer's body harness manually.
2. Remove the hex head screws from the door panel with a socket set. Lift the panel up and off of the Explorer's door.
3. Push the Explorer's window to the top of the window frame. Tape it to the top of the door with packing tape to make sure the glass doesn't fall down during the repair.
The window lift Engine in a 2000 Ford Explorer supplies the kinetic force to up thrust or lower the door windows. When you push the window switch, the faculty window electrical trail closes which, in turn, powers the Engine. The Engine then turns a gear in its nose that turns a gear in the window regulator. The window regulator moves the glass up or down.
5. Remove the old motor and insert the new one by hand. Bolt the Explorer's new window lift motor to the door support and regulator with the socket set.
6. Reinstall the door panel by reversing the removal steps. Peel the packing tape off the window.
