Geo Metro Electric Vehicle Specs

The Geo Metro Electric Motorcar is another term for the ForkenSwift, an electric automobile designed enclosing an elderly Geo Underground.According to ForkenSwift, the modified Geo Metro can travel at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. It has a range of approximately 19 miles to 22 miles in warm weather. The overall cost To erect the vehicle was CAD$997.



Both vehicles are front-wheel operate with notebook, five-speed transmissions.


Function


The ForkenSwift is powered by a 110-pound, forklift motor salvaged from a Baker forklift. The Engine is eight inches in thickness with a female-splined shaft. Originally, the Engine was used to drive one of three hydraulic pumps in the forklift. The motor is paired with a Curtis 1204-412 golf cart controller and powered by eight, 6-volt golf cart batteries.

The vehicle was designed and built by Darin Cosgrove and Ivan Limburg of Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
