Switch The Starter On The 1993 Ford Mustang

Modify the starter on your 1993 Ford Mustang.


Internal components on the starter Engine of your 1993 Ford Mustang wear elsewhere after a far-reaching space of servicing. Instructions


Remove the Starter


1. Regulate the hood and detach the refusal cable from the battery. This is the charcoal cable with the minus (-) communication following to it on the battery occasion. Capitalization a wrench to disconnect the cable.


2. Uplift the front of your Mustang using a floor jack and install two jack stands underneath the frame to back the vehicle.


3. Practice the parking brake and block the rear wheels with two pieces of wooden blocks.

5. Unscrew the starter Engine mounting bolts with a wrench or ratchet and socket. Grasp the starter as you remove the bolts to prevent the Engine from falling to the ground.

Set the new starter in place and start the mounting bolts by hand to prevent thread damage.


8. Tighten and torque the starter mounting bolts using a torque wrench (see the Tip section at the bottom for more information on this). If your particular Ford Mustang starter has two mounting bolts, torque them between 15 to 20 foot lbs. (21 to 27 Nm). If it has three mounting bolts, torque them between 12 to15 foot lbs. (16 to 21 Nm).


9. Connect the wiring to the starter motor using a wrench or ratchet and socket.


10. Lower the vehicle.


11. Remove the wooden blocks from the rear tires.


12. Attach the negative cable to the battery using a wrench.
