Take Away The Battery Wires From The 2001 Mustang Cobra

The battery cables in your 2001 Mustang Cobra can degrade over continuance. Cracking, drying and other damage can generate the cables to fail. The Mustang's battery is accessible from the front Chauffeur's side of the engine compartment.


Disconnect the positive cable as well.3. Follow the positive battery cable to the starter, located near the rear of the engine compartment. Remove the retaining nut with a wrench and slide the battery cable off of the post.


Turn off any accessories. Open the hood to access the battery.


2. Disconnect the negative cable with a wrench.

1. Park the Cobra and turn off the ignition.


Remove the cable from the engine compartment.


4. Follow the negative battery cable to the grounding location on the engine block. Remove the bolt securing the cable to the block with a wrench. Pull the cable out of the engine compartment.
