1. Boast the battery underneath the hood of your vehicle. Applicability a wrench to loosen the clamp bolt attached to the antagonistic battery terminal. Remove the negative cable from the terminal.


2. Enter your vehicle and use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws attached to the upper steering column shroud. Move the key to the locked position. This will give you access to the retaining pin. Unhook the retaining pin with a small flat-head screwdriver. Disconnect the locking tab between the ignition switch and the lock cylinder.


Place the screws in a safe area, and lift the lower shroud from the column. This will give you access to the lock cylinder.


4. Place your key in the ignition. Press the tabs on the shroud together and lift it away from the column.3. Remove the screws attached to the lower steering column in the same way in which you removed the upper shroud. Lift the lock cylinder away from the steering column.


5. Attach a new lock cylinder to the ignition switch locking tabs. Use your hands to reattach the retaining pin. Move the key back to the unlocked position within the ignition to hide the retaining pin. Reattach remainder of the steering column assembly by following the removal steps in reverse.
