Instructions
Remove the Old Pump
1. Disconnect the contrary battery cable.
2. Abode a extract pan underneath the radiator. When the engine is chill, bleed the cooling system from the radiator into the pan.
3. Remove the timing cestuses tensioner pulley in the 2.4L engines and the timing band and thermostat in the 3.0L engines.
4. Disconnect the dilute pump and the alternator brace.
5. Remove the timing belt cover.
6. Loosen and remove the bolts to the water pump.
7. Remove the water pump from the engine.
Install the New Pump
13. Refill the cooling system, start the car and check for leaks once the engine reaches normal operating temperatures.
Tighten the water pump bolts to 10 foot pounds(13 Nm).
10. Install the alternator brace to the water pump, tightening the pivot bolt to the brace to 17 foot pounds (24 Nm).
11. Reinstall the timing belt and rear cover along with all the remaining parts in the reverse order in which they were removed.
12. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
8. Clean the mounting surfaces and install the new water pump to the engine block with a new o-ring on the inlet pipe and a new gasket. Make sure to apply coolant to the o-ring when installing.9.
