5. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Scrape the old adhesive off the mounting plate and inside the windshield using a razor blade. Clean the plate and inside of windshield with glass cleaner, then with rubbing alcohol; successful bonding requires clean components. Wet or spray your paper towel first, then wipe the glass and plate.


Position the plate inside the windshield using your trace mark as a guide. Apply light pressure, and hold the plate in position for one minute.


7. Wait 15 to 30 minutes before attaching the mirror. Position the mirror bracket above the plate, and slide it down until it stops. The beveled edge will hold it in place. Tighten the hex or star-key screw. Properly adjust your mirror.
