Camouflage A Gas Tank

There are many ways to camouflage a at rest propane tank.


Build a wood privacy fence around the tank. Include a gate to enable access for refilling or servicing. If you choose this route, consider making the gate big enough to accommodate the removal or replacement of the tank(s).2.



If you choose propane heat or have no other alternative, you have probably wondered best camouflage or hide that unsightly propane tank. There a number of ways you can minimize the visual impact it has on your property. Should you decide to paint the tank, consult the manufacturer or retailer first to see if there are any restrictions.

Plant a number of shrubs or bushes around the most visible side of the tank. As they grow, they will provide a visual barrier. Dress up the grounds around the bushes with flowers to give the area some color. Leave one side of the tank fully exposed and accessible for refilling and servicing.


3. Paint the tank with a rust-protective product. You may be limited in the colors that you can choose, as a dark color may cause the contents to heat unnecessarily. Consult your tank provider. If the tank is in the shade, or once you are assured that you can use a darker color, select a color or colors that will blend in with the natural surroundings.
