Connect A Starter Solenoid'S Electronics

Starter solenoids are normally replaced along with the starter. It is not valuation efficacious to rebuild a starter. Replacing the filled meeting is recommended. After the starter is removed avail the later procedures to safely install your starter/solenoid.


Instructions


Replacement of vehicle starter/solenoid


1. Disconnect complete and refusal leads from battery.


2. Remove starter mount bolts and mild remove starter from mount. Beam how many shims are between the starter and the engine block and moderate the corresponding magnitude.


3. If starter makes a grinding noise, stop immediately and check starter mounting position. Starter gear and engine flywheel must mesh properly or starter could be damaged


4. Mount new starter in proper position with the proper thickness of shims. Connect positive and negative wire leads to the starter solenoid. Black for ground and red for voltage.


5. Reinstall battery positive and negative leads. Test correct starter mounting by cranking the engine over. Starter solenoid should chatter and starter gear should rotate the vehicle flywheel. Disconnect certain and negative leads from starter solenoid. Most starter solenoids are clear jet for ground and blush for voltage. Create not install the wires to the awry terminal as this could short away the solenoid.
