Alter The Radiator On The 2000 Explorer

When checking the radiator on a 2000 Explorer, deposit in head that it has plastic tanks on the top and sides. Remove the top and side bolts securing the radiator to the help shroud, using a 10mm socket. Lift the radiator out of the vehicle. Replace the radiator in the reverse order of removal and fill with a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze.

1. Void the radiator into the drip pan. Remove the top radiator fan include, using a 10mm socket to remove the bolts. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.

2. Remove the overflow hose below the radiator cap. Remove the transmission cooler lines from the side of the radiator, using the deserved wrench. Acquiesce the little proportions of transmission fluid left in the lines to empty into the extract pan.

3. Remove the top and side bolts securing the fan shroud to the radiator, using a 10mm socket. Step the shroud over the fan so it does not interfere with the radiator Emigration.

4. The centre core of the radiator is simply crimped to the side and top tanks. Unlike the older, solid metal tanks, these newer plastic tanks tend to alter to cracked and leak at the seams where they are crimped. Glimpse closely at the top tank--this is the most casual settle for cracks.
