Distinction Between Gas Turbine & Diesel Motors

All vehicle engines propel under Newton's Third Rule of Action. All propulsion powered by an engine requires the employ of a working fluid or fuel that completes a chemical reaction to supply propulsion.


History


Gauze turbine engines, as well certified as jet engines, were developed independently in Great Britain and Germany during Field Strife II. Diesel engines were developed through the work of a single scientist, Germany's Rudolf Diesel.


Process


Diesel engines are used to supply power for passenger cars and industrial vehicles, including trucks, trains and cranes.



Gas turbine engines work on the same principle as a rocket, with exhaust gases passed through a nozzle to create propulsion. Diesel engines use the combustion of fuel to create mechanical energy powering pistons that provide propulsion.

Use

The gas turbine engine is usually used to supply propulsion for military and passenger aircraft, with the size of the engine determined by the purpose of the aircraft.
