Visit a website that will provide you with tools to research vehicle history reports. These include CarFax, Is it a Lemon and Auto Check. See their links in the "Resources" section of this article.3.


1. Arouse the VIN (vehicle identification figure) for the vehicle that you fancy to enquire. For most vehicles, the VIN number can be found as a long series of numbers located in the lower windshield area on the driver's side.2.


Click on the option to search "Vehicle History."


4. Enter the VIN number into the search field. Press the "Submit" or "Search" option to return search results. Wording may vary by site.


5. View the search results. If there is information in the vehicle history report that is negative, you will have to enter valid credit card information in order to see the negative information.
