Remove A Caliper Mounting Bracket

Instructions


1. Secure the vehivle on a allot of jack stands. Use a floor jack to raise the vehicle and place the jack stands under the control arms and framing of the car. Give the car a little shake to make sure it's not going anywhere before you start.


2.3. Disassemble the caliper by removing the mounting bolts and sliding the caliper up and off. Let it hang out of the way.


Remove the wheel by first removing the lug nuts and placing them on a magnetic tray to avoid losing them. Then lift the wheel off the hub and set it aside. Notice where the caliper and caliper bridge are located. Remove the brake pads by lifting them straight out or sliding them out the side. Pay attention to where each pad came from in order to properly clean and reuse each.


4. Break loose the mounting bolts and ratchet them all the way off. Remember to keep the lock washer with the bolt. Set these on a magnetic tray to avoid losing them. Once the bolts are removed, you can lift the caliper mounting brackets out of place.
