Replace A Cable Energy Window Regulator Inside A Dodge Durango

The Dodge Durango has a cable driven function window regulator it employs to dehiscent and accelerated the window with the function of the potential window motor. The cable spools and unspools in response to the window motor in order to lift or lower the window glass. If the cable frays or breaks, you'll need to replace the entire window regulator, since Dodge does not service the cable separately. You can easily accomplish this repair if you have basic auto-repair abilities and an hour of time on your hands.

Instructions

1. Get the window and lock switches out of the Durango's door panel by prying them out with the trim tool. Unhook each switch from the Durango's door harness manually and then set them aside.

2. Take the Durango's door panel retaining screws out with the Phillips screwdriver. Pull the door panel off the Durango by elevating it 2-inches and then pulling straight off the door by hand.

3. Lift the Durango's window glass manually until you can secure it to the top of the door with packing tape. This prevents the window glass from falling back into the Durango's door during the regulator replacement.

Remove and replace the Durango's power window regulator manually. Bolt the Durango's new power window regulator to the door, window glass and window motor using the socket set.6.

4. Remove the bolts holding the Durango's power window motor to the window regulator using the socket set. Unbolt the window regulator from the Durango's door bracketry and window glass with the socket set.5.

Reinstall the Durango's door panel by reversing how you removed it. Remove the packing tape from the door before using the new regulator.
