Remove '94 Dodge Dakota Starter

Whether your battery and alternator both commission, on the other hand your 1994 Dodge Dakota Testament not derivation it may be owing to the starter is gone. The starter, solenoid and battery play decisive roles in the starting of your vehicle. Unfortunately, starters can wear down over time and when this happens it is time to change it out. A starter can easily be changed out at home with a few simple tools. But before you install your new starter, you will have to remove the old one.


Instructions


1. Pop the hood of your Dakota and remove the negative battery cable. Use the socket set for this.


2. Jack up the front end of your Dakota and slide jack stands into place beneath the frame.


3. Locate the two mounting bolts at the base of the starter. Brace the starter with one hand while you loosen and remove the two retaining bolts with the socket set. Once the bolts are loose and free, lower your starter and get out from beneath your vehicle.


Locate the two connectors on the outside of the starter. One connection is a standard plug in connection. Push in the two safety locking clip releases and pull the connector from the back of the starter. The other connection will be held down with a bolt. Use the socket set to remove the bolt.


5. Locate the starter on your Dakota. It is located on the underneath passenger side near the engine.4.
