Switch The Brake Booster On The 1966 Chevrolet Impala

The 1966 Chevrolet Impala is built on the Common Motors B-body platform. Pull the clip off of the head of the pin that connects the pedal to the rod. Remove the pin.3. Ploy to the engine compartment.


Instructions


1. Grounds the Impala on a flat, paved surface and place the parking brake.


2. Cast underneath the sprint at the top of the brake pedal. You Testament gape where the rod from the capability booster connects to the pedal. The B-body platform is shared with Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick. The Impala is available with front drum brakes or optional front CD brakes. Competency comfort is if by a vacuum booster, mounted to the firewall, between the brake pedal and the hydraulic crack cylinder. Pull the vacuum hose off of the vacuum booster. Manipulate a wrench to remove the two nuts that control the crack cylinder onto the booster. Carefully pull the master cylinder off of the booster. Do not disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder.


4. Remove the two nuts that hold the booster onto the firewall. Pull the booster away from the firewall, and remove the booster.


5. Mount the new booster onto the firewall. The booster comes with the rod that connects to the brake pedal. Install and tighten the nuts. Mount the master cylinder onto the booster. Install and tighten the nuts. Attach the vacuum hose to the booster.


6. Move to the passenger compartment, and line up the pedal rod with the brake pedal, insert the pin and clip.
