Switch The Starter Motor On 2005 Kia Spectra

The starter on your 2005 Kia Spectra's 2.0-liter engine is accessed from the top of the engine compartment and sits on the front side of the engine. The 2.0-liter engine is mounted transversely in the engine compartment to accomodate the front rotate guide trans-axle in the Spectra. The starter can be bench tested after it is absent of the motorcar to halt whether a dissimilar starter is needed or whether there is some other Element causing starting issues in your van.


Instructions


1. Exposed the hood of your Kia Spectra and establish the denying battery cable on the battery. Remove the retaining bolt on the cable mark and remove the cable from the denial battery terminal. Isolate the battery cable from the battery terminals while you grindstone.


2. Fix the starter on the front of the engine. Cast straight down between the engine and radiator. It is mounted near the Chauffeur's side of the engine.


3. Disconnect the two wiring harness connections from the rear of the starter solenoid by removing the retaining nuts with a socket and ratchet and then slide the wires off the terminals. Purpose the "B" terminal wire with a portion of tape so you apperceive which one it is during reinstallation.


Install the retaining nuts on the terminals and tighten them with a socket and ratchet.6. Dwelling the negative battery cable on the dissension terminal of the battery. Install the retaining bolt in the battery cable head and tighten it with a wrench.


Position the brand-new starter on the ring housing and install the two mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts with a socket and ratchet and then establish the wire you blatant as the "B" wire. Install the wire on the "B" terminal then install the moment starter wire on the "S" terminal on the back of the solenoid.4. Remove the two mounting bolts from the nose of the starter and slide the starter absent of the ring housing. Lift the starter gone of the engine compartment and locate it aside.5.
